Stepping out…

Whenever I draw a circle, I immediately want to step out of it.

    • Dear Ranu,

Thank you for your visit and question. I don’t know precisely what Buckminster Fuller was thinking when he said that.

I will share, however, that it brought me to consider what Iqbal has shared about meliorism. There is a phenomenon that seems to be common to all of humanity. It is that we have this insatiable drive to discover, to explore, to learn, to grow, and to expand. This all can be physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and otherwise.

Sometimes this can manifest in good, ennobling ways and, at other times, in life-alienating ways. As soon as we’re done with one period of growth, we move on to new ones. As soon as one circle is created, we seem to be drawn to then move beyond that to another, and another, ad infinitum.

Who knows? This is simply a few thoughts on it.

      All good wishes,

    • Dear Sonya,

Thank you for your visit and comments. I agree. Many prehistoric peoples held a practical and sophisticated understanding of their place in the Universe, and understood things on a personal, social, planetary, and universal level far exceeding that of most modern peoples.

      All good wishes,
