The path is nothing but service to humanity.
It is not found in the rosary, the church pew, the prayer carpet, all the look-at-me behavior, or the dervish robe.
Gladden the heart of human beings;
Feed the hungry;
Help the afflicted;
Lighten the sorrow of the sorrowful;
Remove the sufferings of the injured.
The sons of Adam are limbs of each other,
Having been created of one essence.
When the calamity of time affects one limb,
The other limbs cannot remain at rest.
If you have no sympathy for the troubles of others,
You are unworthy to be called by the name of a Human.
~ Bani Adam, by Sa’adi of Shiraz
A 13th century Sufi knew this. Yet today much of humanity seems to live as if completely unaware of this existential truth. May we all be granted a return to the Source of Truth.

When you seek God, seek Him in your heart – He is not in Jerusalem, nor in Mecca, nor in the hajj.
~ Yunus Emre
Religion is the finger pointing to God. People are too busy licking the finger to notice where it’s pointing.
~ Anthony de Mello
The body is a tent which for a time does the pure soul with kingly presence grace. When he departs, the tent-pitcher strikes it, and moves to a new halting place.
~ Omar Khayyam
Everything God created is good. We were all created pure, as pure souls made out of light. God didn’t create any bad people. He pushed out all the darkness and kept all the goodness. So, tell yourself, ‘Now, if I bring in the darkness, I’ll just be taking back what God pushed away. But if I can avoid doing that, nothing but goodness will remain in me.’ Therefore, the question to ask is: ‘Since we were all created good, can I stay good? Can I be good?’ That’s what every human being should strive for.
